Will Metal Castings Turn The Wheels Of Industry?

Tezmaksan, aiming to address the skilled labor gap in the machine tools sector with domestic robots, plans to produce 300 CubeBOX robots annually at its factory in Sivas with its dark factory model. Tezmaksan Group CEO Hakan Aydoğdu emphasized their commitment to creating high-value-added jobs with advanced technology, stating, “We aim to reach 100 million euros in revenue by 2030.”

Explaining how they monitor technological advancements and adapt their factory to these innovations, Aydoğdu added, “The need for automation in the machine tools sector is increasing, which contributes to more modern and streamlined production methods. The rise of robotics in production has led to increased investment in this area, a stronger focus on R&D, and the spread of the dark factory concept. Investing in CNCs in tight spaces can be challenging for manufacturers who don’t want to expand capacity, but with robotic automation systems, it’s possible to continue using existing CNCs while achieving maximum efficiency. A suitable technological system can avoid new investments and enable greater production with current technological capacity.”

24/7 Production Capability

Highlighting how Tezmaksan began designing and manufacturing its own robotic automation systems six years ago in response to changing global dynamics and market needs, Aydoğdu said, “Positive feedback, successful projects, and repeat orders from Türkiye led us to start CubeBOX exports three years ago. CubeBOX was designed with Industry 4.0 and the dark factory concept in mind. In a short time, CubeBOX has become a global brand with 27 distributors in 42 countries. Additionally, we’ll achieve an annual production capacity of 300 CubeBOX robots at our Sivas factory. With over 80% automation, we’ll be able to operate 24/7, aiming to address the skilled labor shortage in the industry through domestic robots.” Aydoğdu added that Tezmaksan has developed the CubeBOX-AMR system for sectors with intense logistics and material handling needs: “The new CubeBOX-AMR robot system, designed with the 'metal-collar workforce' approach for compatibility with the dark factory concept, will provide numerous advantages tailored to businesses' needs, such as optimizing critical processes like automatic material handling and inventory management. Additionally, it offers uninterrupted 24/7 production and logistics services, increasing operational efficiency and reducing costs, thus enhancing businesses' competitiveness.”

Targeting €100 Million in Revenue by 2030

“Our factory currently employs 16 people—3 white-collar and 13 blue-collar workers,” Aydoğdu noted, “but the key point is that the majority of production in our dark-factory concept facility is carried out by robots. Türkiye’s CNC demand is 5,000 machines annually. Our production target is 80% exports, with machine prices averaging €80,000-90,000, ranging from €40,000 to €4 million. By continuing to produce high-value-added work with advanced technology, we’ll reach €100 million in revenue by 2030.”
